Description

Animals have an incredible ability to comfort, connect, and heal—but what does it really take to use them in a professional therapy setting? In this engaging, interactive course, we’ll explore the world of Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) and what it means to work with therapy animals ethically and legally.

What You’ll Learn:
🐾 The fundamentals of Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT)
🐾 The differences between therapy animals, service animals, and emotional support animals
🐾 Laws and ethical considerations for working with animals in therapy
🐾 Steps to becoming certified and properly training an animal for AAT
🐾 How to run a legal and ethical AAT program or facility

Class Experience:
Each week, I’ll introduce key concepts and bring my own animals—goats, horses, cats, and more—on camera for live demonstrations. We’ll discuss the realities of working in this field, how to ensure animal welfare, and the rewarding impact AAT can have on people’s lives.

Materials Needed:
No required materials—just curiosity and a passion for animals!

By the end of this course, you’ll have a clear understanding of what it takes to work with therapy animals, whether for personal enrichment or as a potential career path. If you’ve ever wondered how animals can truly help people heal, this class is for you!
