Expression Meets Creation: Videos and Blogging

   The students will produce and create one blog entry with a graphic they made as the introduction of the blog entry. They will make a three to five minute video with two characters that begin with the introduction of the characters, the setting, and the problem of the story. This will be an introduction video they develop. 

Week 1: Blog entry and how to begin. Students will learn how to set up a blog using google blogger, then begin writing their first blog entry. They will be assisted with different techniques to write their blog story. The story will be the base for what video they will be making. I will model the process of the blog entry, publishing, and what to expect during the next class session. 

Week 2: The students will finish their blog. This is when they will be introduced to the development of a video. I will model the process and they will begin to explore the program.  They will see how to use the program, Create Studio Pro, and will use a template to begin practicing their animations and forming their background settings.

Week 3: The students will be taught how to  make a 3-5 minute video using the program. The story will be based upon their blog entry. They will be taught additional strategies such as layering, editing, voice recording, and tweaking. 

Week 4: They will learn how to edit their video for publishing and rendering. They will render their final product and upload it to their blog. They will produce a graphic for their blog and video thumbnail with a title. After they are completed, they can present their blog entry and final video for review at the end of the time. 

Materials needed:
Create Studio Pro (you can pay for the plan, or just use what is free)
Blogger from Google is a free blogging program. It can be found on the google suite.
Paper and Pencil
Envato is a great tool to use to get graphics for the video editing piece, but Create Studio Pro has many items available already.
Have a story idea in mind, with a set of characters, the setting, and the problem in mind.
