Description

In this course, students will explore the world of game development with a focus on writing. They will learn how writing plays a role in different types of games, including video games, tabletop games, and card games.

Each week, we will follow a basic schedule:

One day (Tuesday) will focus on planning and organizing ideas.

The other day (Thursday) will be hands-on, with exercises and workshopping to improve writing projects.

By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of game writing and receive helpful resources to continue learning on their own.

This course is designed to be engaging and accessible, welcoming students of all learning styles.

Recommended Materials:

For this course, there is no required materials if the student is comfortable using google docs and tech. However, having a notebook, organized writing binder, or anything else would be helpful for developing planning and pre-writing skills should the student struggle with using technology.
